TANGLED 40" X 60"
"I created this large piece, Tangled, by starting with photos and smaller sketch references over the course of a week or two, and then drew the shapes and lines in with a pencil using a smaller image I prepared. I filled in the lines and background with charcoal. I turned the piece upside down and wet the charcoal with water to manipulate, add and remove. I finished the piece with a light coat of workable fixative to prevent smearing while I handled it and added in small details. The canvas is currently raw and can be either stretched or prepared to hang like a tapestry or framed under glass." - Erin Thomas
