SNEAK PEAK:What did I do with all these battles? Two years ago a tiny war started ... a series of macro images affectionately titled "BATTLEFIELD" .... a simple environmental concept, combining an organic material with a pigment or color... the organic material represents the natural (organic) order of things, and the pigment represents an enemy, or a wound (man-inflicted). The bright colors are a visible dichotomy against the dried earthen Maine tones that are endlessly appealing to me. Everything was collected in early fall, and will provide tons of wonderful possibilities, challenges and learning opportunities for shooting in a macro environment. After filling a hard drive up with digital images over the last year, and considering that many battles were had in this tiny world, a concrete resolution needed to start happening for this war to find it's resolution. Stumbling into the 2017 season seems the perfect time to resolve the design challenges that have been hanging around weighing down the back of my brain.... also the perfect time to purge the dusty designs that have been chilling on ice too long in the royalty market... time to say goodbye to 2016 and the old designs not yielding results and Hello! to moving forward with a refreshed eye for 2017. Utililizing the photos from the Battlefield collection as an inspiration point for a fresh design challenge seems like a logical place to begin, and it also may resolve some of those battles and turn them into tiny little spats instead. HERE IS A SNEAK PEAK AT THE FIRST ATTEMPT This photograph is called THE PATRIOT after digitally extracting the colors from the original photograph and layering them together... I then paired the design element with a compatible product... I then expand the concept to feature a more complex pattern uploaded the designs to several different products on Society6... ...so now a customer can purchase a print of their favorite photograph and grab the compatible duvet for a bedroom ...or a stretched canvas, a rug and a shower curtain decorates a bathroom for a more cohesive look! there are twelve BATTLEFIELD images with compatible design products so far, the goal of twenty four should be ready just in time for the new year!
